Birthday Recap

Tuesday, October 20, 2020

I want to first say a huge "THANK YOU!" for all of the sweet messages, texts, comments wishing me a happy birthday. I really appreciated all of your kind words, truly! It's so crazy to think that I'm in my last year of twenties and next year I'll be turning the big 3-0! I'm normally a person super excited for their birthday but this year I wasn't so much. I honestly think because I let work stay at the forefront of my mind that I kept pushing aside any thoughts of my birthday thus it taking me forever to even make a decision of what I wanted to do. I wanted to keep it super low-key and nothing over the top but next year, that's a whole different story. I wanted to share what I didn't for my birthday, a recap of my week since I took the entire week off work and just share some photos with you guys.

BRUNCH

One thing I go every year is either plan to do a dinner or do a brunch. Last year I did a brunch at "Hampton & Hudson" and it was so much fun. The food is great and I LOVE the way it looks on the inside. This year I dabbled at the idea of maybe doing a dinner but decided a brunch on a Sunday would be a much better option. I chose to do it at "Warren City Club" right in Virginia Highlands and OMG you guys, it was AH-MAZING!! The food was impeccable and they give you so much food! Lol. The staff and owners are super nice and constantly make sure you're enjoying yourself. It's definitely on my list of places to go back. A couple of my girlfriends went and it was perfect. We were there no joke, for three hours just talking and enjoying our mimosas. This was the perfect start to the birthday festivities.

OCT.12 MY BIRTHDAY

Monday the 12th was my actual birthday and I had the BEST day. It was a day fully planned out for me with no ideas or hints at what I'd be doing. The only information I was given was that I would need an outfit for the daytime and an outfit for dinner. First stop of the day was a quick breakfast at Ihop. Had some great pancakes and enjoyed my morning. Came home to change for the next stop. I snapped a quick photo (of course lol) and headed out the door. I also didn't drive so I truly didn't know where I was going so I had to wait till we arrived to know. I was surprised with a trip to the Georgia Aquarium! Backstory: I've lived in Georgia for 15 years but have yet to do a lot of the normal tourist things (The Aquarium, the zoo and even the World of Coke) This was something I really had been wanting to do but just never have gone. Also if you're a Georgia resident, you get to go for free on your birthday which is great! I was so surprised and I felt like a kid going to Disney for the first time! lol I had so much fun checking out all of the exhibits and had a blast at the Sea Lion show. They did such a great job with social distancing guidelines and made sure everyone had on their masks.

We grabbed a quick bite in the cafeteria and headed to our next stop which happened to be ANOTHER thing I had on my list of things to do in Atlanta: The Ferris Wheel! The amount of times I've seen and driven past this Ferris wheel is insane. Let alone, the amount of times I would see a Groupon for this but still had yet to go. You guys, I'm afraid of heights, more like petrified but I had the best time. I loved getting to see the view of the city and be able to check this off of my Atl bucket list. Once again, they were so great with social distancing and we obviously got our own cab to ourselves. I'm still swooning over those views and just how beautiful it was.

After a quick break at my apartment and an outfit change it was time for dinner. I had mentioned a few places that I really liked that were close to me but left the decision in their hands. We went to one of my favorite places that I haven't been too in a long time, Copelands in Smyrna. You guys, the food there is fantastic. I ordered this really yummy cajun jambalaya that I had to take most of back home. Essentially, if you've never gone you need to try it because the food is great. I ended the night with a birthday cake and being sung "Happy Birthday" which was really sweet. lol I was so tired you guys that I passed out so hard after cake.

It truly was the best day! I got to have a second birthday brunch this past weekend with my best-friends to cap off the birthday festivities.  We headed to the rooftop of "Republic Social House" in Grant Park and it was such a beautiful day. The weather was perfect, the food was amazing, the mimosas were great and the breakfast shots were interesting. lol If you're in this part of the city, it's a must that you go and try it out. Such a fun place and it was actually my first time going. It made for a great end to the birthday week before I headed back in to the reality of work that Monday! lol

I couldn't have asked for a better birthday and getting to spend it with my best friends and people I love made it so special. I love how simple and low-key it was and I wouldn't have change a thing! I truly can't want to see what this year holds, I feel some great things are going to happen but I will keep you guys updated along the way. Thank you so much again for all of your kind words!
