Winter Date Night Outfit

Wednesday, January 20, 2021

I don't know about you guys but when it's super cold outside, like it has been in Atlanta lately, I try super hard to find outfits that are warm but still cute. Date night outfits can be a little tricky because the temps lower in the evening and again, you want to look great and get dressed up but not sacrifice being warm. I think back to my college days where we would ignore the temperature and still wear that cute mini skirt and open toe heels when we should've worn a jacket and maybe a cute pair of tights/jeans and boots. LOL My oh my how times and my mindset has changed. Recently I got to celebrate my favorite persons birthday and went to one of my favorite restaurants, Two Urban Licks and needed to change my original outfit idea.

I originally thought I would wear this dress, which is on sale, so if you saw it on my Instagram and loved it, snag it while it's super marked down, but the weather was wayyyy too cold for that even with wearing OTK boots. I quickly shifted gears and knew an all black outfit would work especially since I had been dying to wear my new snake skin boots I got on sale from Target. I threw on these black jeans and a black turtle neck top from Express as the base for the outfit. My exact top is no longer in stock but any simple black turtleneck will do. This way I had my neck/chest covered and this would allow for my gold jewelry to pop against the black. I've shared these gold hoops a million times but they're honestly just a go-to pair for me. They're super affordable and have lasted me a long time. I'm tempted to buy another pair in case I lose mine or something happens to them. A few of you have asked me about them and actually purchased them and shared how much you love them to me in my DM's!

The POP to this basic outfit was definitely the shoes; you guys....these shoes...I had my eye on them for so long but for some reason I didn't want to spend the $40 on them. I knew they would probably do some shoe sale or these might end of going to clearance and I WAS RIGHT!!! My patience paid off and I snagged these babies for $20! Yes, only $20. I got my true size 8.5 and they fit great. I could've gone up to a 9 but this size worked for me. They're super comfortable which I was a little surprised by but it's not a super high heel. I wore them this past weekend for brunch and walking around and my fit never started hurting. I finished off the look with a simple coach wristlet I got for Christmas and this fur coat from Express. This coat has kept me so warm, warmer than I thought it would. I've shared it styled more casual here on my Instagram and dressed up like you see above. This particular color is almost sold out but the black version is on clearance right now too!

Until next time my loves,

XO
