A couple of weeks ago I made my way to NYC with my best friend Molly for our friend Rachel’s 30th birthday. It was truly one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. We really did make the most out of that trip (my legs paid for that part once I got home) and made sure to see and do as much as possible in the 52 hours we were there. One of the things that Molly suggested that would be fun was checking out the Color Factory. This is something I had seen and was super excited about being able to go to. We purchased our tickets before we left for the city since their tickets tend to sell out pretty quickly.
Upon arrival you’re able to check in your bags so you’re not having to lug them around the entire time and they even have complimentary mochi for you to try in a variety of different flavors. I’ve NEVER tried mochi before so this was definitely new for me. You’re then lead into a room during your assigned time slot where they explain the entire exhibit and what to expect; after the video you’re lead into another room where you put in your personal information so that anytime you use one of the picture stations you can receive those images later on since they are assigned to your specific Color Co card. I think this was one of the coolest parts so that aside from the pics you’re taking yourself, you can easily get a group picture!
Each room was very different and contained so many elements. I love that throughout the entire exhibit there were cool facts and interesting information so you were also learning; the extra treats along the way were also a nice added touch as well. One of the rooms that I was most excited for was the ball pit room…cue my entire childhood dreams coming true. A large room filled with a ball pit which happened to also be my favorite color. I shared lot of boomerangs and videos of this room and it was truly so much fun.
I don’t want to spoil the entire experience for you so if you find yourself in NYC or near a place that has the Color Factory, definitely make it a priority to stop by. I would 100% go back for the experience and it’s family friendly so people of any age would enjoy it. If you’re interested in what else I did while I was in NYC, check out this post here! You can also see a video I made sharing my weekend there!
