Happy Monday lovelies!!
I had a super fun weekend and I'm so excited to share it with you guys. Normally on the weekends I take that time to do laundry and catch up on life haha, but this weekend I got to spend time in the city with my mom and my sister. Back in 2017...(Still mind blowing that we're already in 2018!!) I shared a post about the Alvin Ailey Dance Company show at the Fox Theatre. (You can read it here) It was our first time going to the show and it did not disappoint. It was an early Mother's Day present for my mom. If you don't know my mom, she is a dancer and also teaches dance at a middle school so whenever anything like this comes around, especially Alvin Ailey, we try to get tickets and treat her. We snagged these back in November and had been anxiously awaiting the shows arrival. The day of the show we love to get all dressed up and make a whole day out of it. My mom RARELY visits the city so I love that she gets to be in the heart of it, cause it's one of my favorite places!! We opted to pay for valet parking which happened to be right across the street from the Fox at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. This was just so convenient and allowed us to spare the time of parking and quickly get in line for the doors to open. Once inside they had merch tables, which we love to grab her cute apparel, bags and water bottles from to commemorate the day and add to her dance wardrobe. We opted to grab some wine, popcorn and get settled in our seats for the show. Guys, we happened to get lucky and get three orchestra seats in the fourth row before they all sold out!!! I don't know how it happened but they were AMAZING seats!! My goal is to get front row next year so I'll actively be looking at that. The show was MAGNIFICENT from start to finish and all of the dancers did such an incredible job. If you've never gone to an Ailey show, you're missing out! It's so inspiring and so incredible to watch. After the show they proceeded with a Q&A section where a couple of the dancers spoke about their experience and how they got into dance! They were Chalvar and Michael. Michael was sweet enough to let us snag a picture with him when it was over. Last year we went to dinner at the Hard Rock, well they had a 2-hour wait so we wound up at the Varsity! If you've never been...YOU HAVE TO GO!! Great cheeseburgers and Fries!! "What'll ya have?!" (If you've been you'll understand that phrase! haha) Overall it was such a fun day and I'm so glad my mom had a great time. It's always amazing when my sister and I get the chance to take her out and treat her. She deserves the world but this show will do for now! Lol
Have a happy Monday!!
